1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a Vefa account or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Vefa.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Description of Service

Vefa provides AI-powered wellness check-in calls for individuals living alone or independently, along with wellness summaries, emergency alerts, and health reports for designated contacts and family members.

Vefa is a wellness monitoring service, not a medical, emergency, or crisis service.

3. Important Medical Disclaimer

  • Vefa is not a medical service, and we are not a healthcare provider.
  • AI-generated wellness summaries and reports are for informational purposes only
  • They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
  • They may contain errors or omissions
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for any medical decisions
  • Do not rely on Vefa as your sole means of monitoring health or safety
  • In an emergency, always contact the relevant emergency services (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the USA)

4. Emergency Notifications

Vefa will attempt to notify your designated emergency contacts if we are unable to reach you during a scheduled call. However:

  • Notification is not guaranteed and may be delayed due to technical issues
  • Vefa is not a substitute for professional emergency services
  • We accept no liability for outcomes resulting from delayed or failed notifications
  • Emergency contacts you designate must be informed that they may receive alerts from Vefa on your behalf

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account and contact information
  • Ensure the person receiving calls has consented to receiving AI-powered wellness calls from Vefa
  • Inform your designated emergency contacts that they have been added to your account
  • Maintain valid payment for continued service
  • Not use Vefa for any unlawful purpose
  • Notify us promptly if your contact details change

6. Consent on Behalf of Others

If you are registering on behalf of another person (e.g. an elderly parent), you confirm that:

  • You have their informed consent to enrol them in the Vefa service
  • You have explained that calls will be AI-powered and may be recorded
  • You have their permission to share their data with Vefa as described in our Privacy Policy

7. Subscription and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe
  • You can cancel at any time from your account Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds are provided for partial months
  • We reserve the right to suspend accounts with failed payments after reasonable notice
  • Prices may change with 30 days' notice to your registered email

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vefa shall not be liable for:

  • Missed or failed calls due to technical issues, network outages, or factors outside our control
  • Any actions taken or not taken based on AI-generated reports or summaries
  • Delayed, failed, or missed emergency notifications
  • Loss, damage, or harm arising from reliance on the service as a substitute for professional medical or emergency care
  • Indirect, consequential, or special damages of any kind

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to Vefa in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, software, and technology within the Vefa platform is owned by or licensed to Vefa. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our written permission.

Your personal data and any content you submit remains yours, subject to the licences necessary to provide the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the service in a manner that could harm other users or third parties. You will be notified where reasonably possible.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you are resident in the EU or UK, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of Vefa after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
